Our Vision

Business Description

There are now 7.6 billion people on earth with 24,642,757 square miles of habitable land on earth. This works out at roughly 8404.6sq metres per person or 1.2 football pitches.

Now, what if we took the land allocated to an individual, harvested and manipulated the raw materials on site. The variable landscapes mean that each project we do is unique and ensures your project is of its region and locality.

This method reduces the carbon footprint of the building significantly, through a considered cradle to cradle life cycle working towards a carbon positive future.

We try to ensure we stand apart and ahead of other practices striving for goals we believe the industry, as a whole, should too. Atelier Regolith, in a fitting and literal sense means a workshop of materials covering the face of our earth.

Our Ethos

At Atelier Regolith, we focus on creating our designs out of the landscape of our Clients' Site.

Our ethos is to create a celebration of the landscape through architecture. Growing from the materials it was once a part of to create a culturally, and environmentally sustainable space. Or simply, as we call it, Locale Architecture.

Our specific design approach is based around our ethos so throughout these processes there will be detailed analysis and design focused around the materiality and physical qualities of the site. In parallel we will take samples from the site to explore and experiment with to understand the possibilities of the materials. This information and instruction will be passed on to the contractors and craftsman and in some cases our own office will aid in manufacturing these components.

Our Unique Selling Point

Our USP and marketing strategy is integral to our practice ensuring that our clients are connected with us and can visualise their vision through our built work. We try to ensure we stand apart and ahead of other practices striving for goals we believe the industry, as a whole, should too.

Our Partner and Site Director Ben previously lived in Canada and returned recently for a networking event. He has established connections there and after we have expanded to Europe, we are looking at aiming to open a practice in Canada too where there are many opportunities to create vernacular architecture with the large amount of timber.
