Straw Bale…more than just a pretty view?

Wow, why are more practises not using Straw bale construction!?

Straw Bale construction is a method of building that works by using bales of straw as structural elements and building insulation. Straw is an extremely environmentally friendly building material that has great insulative properties in turn improving a buildings energy efficiency, low embodied energy and is composed of an adaptive re-use of waste-product, namely the stalk of the edible part of a grain (wheat, rice, rye or oats), in turn giving a new life to a material that would otherwise be burnt releasing carbon back into the atmosphere. In fact, by weight, 40% of Straw is Carbon, which tells us, the growth of grains, and therefore the manufacture of straw bales helps to reduce Carbon Dioxide levels in our atmosphere due to the absorption during the growth phase of the crop.
