This room is ideal for the inhabitation of a playwright, giving them a space to write, test and host.

The host has had a life of experiences and uses this as inspiration for the stories that are told on stage. Their surroundings can ignite their imagination and give influence to what is written in a script, therefore their environment plays a vital role in their life. After writing plays around the world, they have settled down in Nottingham to educate others on the beauty of the arts and write plays to be performed by the students.

The room is outwardly separated into two different areas, one being a place for concentration with a desk and a feature wall of books, and the second being a place for performing with seating and a raised stage area. However, these spaces are interchangeable and allow for discussions across the room, eliminating the two spaces and combining them into one. Thinking about the inclusion of everybody occupying it and creating a space that they are comfortable in gives the room the opportunity to become the perfect place for hosting. And gives the host the motivation to continue to write and test plays.

The room manages to bridge the gap between many things, with examples like old and modern details and joy and education. However, this connection is most prominently felt through the people and the room itself, provoking emotions and building this connection that inspires not only the host but anybody that enters.
