GNR Warehouse

My Proposal is to convert the GNR building into a space fit for a Community Centre or an Activity Centre. This is made by creating a large open plan space with movable pods used to create separation and privacy. These can vary to suit different needs. The Community Centre Design includes an open plan space to allow for different events on different days of the week combined with pods that would allow privacy for sessions, storage and market stalls. The outdoor space would be used as a sensory garden. The Activity Centre design has a similar open plan space but would have a more consistent layout including a trampoline area, indoor and outdoor rock-climbing walls and smaller activities. The Pods would be used for storage and staff rooms etc. The pods are moveable so are not permanent and could be adapted between uses. The only other non-permanent areas are the climbing walls. These would ber eplaced with sensory/coloured walls and a green wall outside. The service core including the lift, stairs and toilets stays the same between each use.
