Green Bridge Project

Client - Tom Hughes

Date - 2020

Location - Nottingham, UK

My concept for the project was FLOW. I have shown this in my masterplan by creating walkways that lead from greenspaces, through the site, and into the city centre or Sneinton Markets. There are spaces of tension and release in paths outdoors for people to pause and watch street performers as well as curved walls through the atrium ground floor, to file people out of the public walkways into more private areas. This is inspired by rivers. On the3rd floor of the hybrid housing building is a glass floor to allow people to walk across the atrium. This allows the path that goes from the city centre to the green spaces, north of the site, to flow through the hybrid housing Building, mixing the public/private interface. Along this walkway, within the hybrid Housing is a bar, and hotel rooms, for people to stay in.
